Professional Concrete Raising Services in Parry Sound

Do you find yourself tripping on your concrete? If you have uneven concrete that poses a risk to your family or business, SoundSeals Insulation provides concrete raising service to Parry Sound and the surrounding areas. Concrete raising is the process of raising and leveling sunken or unstable concrete slabs. Concrete raising can be done through polyurethane foam and mudjacking.

What causes sunken concrete?
Sunken concrete can occur due to a variety of reasons. It can happen due to a poor initial installation, compaction of the sub-base, soil erosion, freezing and thawing, or water penetration. Animals digging can also create voids below.

Whenever a void and space is created below the concrete slab, the lack of support underneath the surface causes the slab to shift and settle. Sometimes, the slab has not yet sunken but is significantly weakened and at high risk for future cracking or sinking.

What does concrete raising fix?
Instead of replacing your entire concrete surface, concrete raising is a cost-effective alternative. You are likely to save over 50% of the cost of replacement. We often raise and repair driveways, sidewalks, patios, porches, steps, pool decks, and more. If your concrete is uneven, sunken, or beginning to crack, we can fix it.

How is concrete raising done?
Concrete raising is quicker and easier than complete concrete replacement. Polyurethane is the cheaper and more efficient form of concrete raising.

First, we drill 1-1/4” holes into the concrete slabs. Mixed with polyurethane, a foam is injected under the slab through the holes. The foam fills any space beneath the concrete and forces the material to expand which raises the concrete. We finish by patching the drilled holes with cement.

The other process used is mudjacking. Like the polyurethane foam, we drill holes into the concrete. Stabilizing grout material is then pumped underneath the surface. The pressure raises the concrete to its original height. Once raised, the grout material hardens and creates a stable sub-base that won’t be susceptible to future erosion or settling. We finish by patching the drilled holes with cement.
